It is enshrined in the 1956 Convention for the International Carriage of Goods by Road ( the CMR Convention ). The consignment note is a document linked to a consignment and describes what the carrier ( JCTtransport ) transports from A to B on behalf of the sender (the client).
Under the CMR Convention, the driver is not responsible for any loss or damage to the goods if he demonstrates that they are the result of: (1) The own defects of the goods, (2) Force majeure (unforeseen circumstances), (3) An error of the client who loads or the client who unloads the van.
